Das Prinzip der Just-in-time-production ist ein logistikorientiertes, dezentrales Organisations- und Steuerungskonzept, welches die Materialversorgung und -entsorgung für eine Produktion auf Abruf zum Ziele hat. Ein Konzept zur flexiblen, zeitgenauen Fertigung und Anlieferung. Ursprünglich bei Toyota von Taiichi Ono zur Vermeidung von Verschwendung konzipiert und perfektioniert.
